Photography is more than an image—it’s a conversation, a feeling, a connection. Lily Toohey (b. 2003) is an American portrait and fashion photographer based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. 

Lily spent three months in New York City, immersing herself in its vibrant art and fashion scenes while expanding her approach to photography. Lily’s recent work focuses on themes of femininity and human connection, by exploring the balance between beauty and struggle, strength and vulnerability. Through intentional lighting, composition and subject expression, she creates intimate and emotional portraits. She aims to capture the complexity of personal narratives—particularly the nuanced experiences of womanhood. Through her lens, she invites viewers to reflect on the deeper levels of identity, celebrating the complexity of human connection.
