This body of work was created for a gallery exhibition in New York City.

This series of photographs emphasizes and showcase the complexity of being a woman, presenting both the elegance and emotional turmoil that women experience in today's world.

The objective of this project is to illustrate and explore the duality of being a woman in today’s world; its elegance and divinity, but also the raw and unfiltered pain and resilience. Being a woman myself and also having younger sisters and many close female friendships, I really value the sanctity of sisterhood and womanhood.

I’m so tired of watching women, myself included, shrink themselves and lose core parts of who they are to seem more palatable. There’s this pressure to hide anger, frustration, or sadness or even the things we enjoy just to stay likable or digestible, especially in the eyes of men.

I wanted to push back against that a little. To create images that feel authentic and real. To show women as soft and beautiful, but also raw, messy, and powerful — because those emotions are just as valid, and just as much a part of womanhood.

I want viewers to connect with their own femininity, embrace their full range of emotions, and feel empowered to challenge the male gaze or societal expectations. I hope the viewers find pieces of themselves within the portraits.
